Who we are
OWYL ("we", "us") runs getowyl.com and the OWYL app. We are the data controller for the personal data described here. Contact: privacy@getowyl.com.
What we collect
- Account details: your email address and display name.
- What you add: tasks, reminders, budgets, money owed, home jobs and shared projects.
- Device settings: notification preferences and push subscription details.
- Photos of bills: read once to pull out the payee, amount and due date, then discarded. We do not keep the image.
Why we use it (lawful basis)
To provide the service you signed up for (contract), to keep it secure and working (legitimate interests), and to send optional notifications you switch on (consent, which you can withdraw at any time in Settings).
Who we share it with
We never sell your data and we do not connect to your bank. We use trusted processors to host the app, send notifications and run the optional AI features. They act only on our instructions. People you invite to a shared project see only that project.
How long we keep it
For as long as your account is open. If you delete your account, we delete your data within 30 days, apart from anything we must keep by law.
Your rights
You can access, correct, export or delete your data, and object to or restrict how we use it. See Your data rights. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).
Children
Children do not have their own logins. A parent may add a child profile they manage, and is responsible for the information in it.
